Dr. Hugo Scheu and son Erich archeological collection

The archeological collection was established in XIX century by Hugo Scheu’s son, Erich. The exposition represents various prehistoric periods of East-Prussia: neolithic, bronze, iron age. Collection consists of working tools, jewellery, coins, fragment of skull.

Dr. Hugo Scheu nature exhibition

Nature collection consists of 1124 exhibit items: taxidermied animals and birds, eggs, various bug collections and oldest in the East-Prussia herbarium compiled by Hugo Scheu himself.

Dr. Hugo Scheu ethnographic exhibitions

The ethnographic collection began in the end of XIX century. Even though it got significantly damaged in WWII, now the museum is proud to show an exhibit of furniture, working tools, crafts and other unique things, representative of lietuvininkai (people of Lithuanian descent in East-Prussia) traditions and the way of life.

Scheu family travelling exhibition

The most exotic is the Scheu family travelling exhibition: an exclusive Egyptian style bed, relic statues, natural fibre fans, bone-inlay for shisha and more.

Hall of frescoes

The frescoes in the Frescoe hall where unseen until the manor hause was being restored - they where uncovered under seven layers of paint. The frescoes where installed inthe time of Hugo Scheu. It is believed that the frescoes show motives of Mediterranean, probably inspired by the impressions from the familys extemsove travels.
