Seeking to attract more visitors and position the Šilutė Hugo Šojus Manor as the museum that best represents East Prussian culture in the region, the Hugo Šojus Museum in Šilutė offers the educational program "Food was Sacred." This activity presents the unique culinary heritage of the ethnographic region of Lithuania Minor. The period covered spans from the early 17th century to the early 20th century. The everyday life of Klaipėda region residents, including their homesteads and crafts, which influenced their eating habits and shaped a distinctive culinary heritage, is briefly introduced. The activity takes place in the East Prussian manor complex, within the ethnographic exhibition collected by the manor's owner, Hugo Šojus, providing an excellent opportunity to present authentic household items from the Klaipėda region and explain their functions and history.
